LITTLE WOMEN

Greta Gerwig’s Little Women is a fantastic film that perfectly captures what it's like to be a young woman trying to find her place in the world. Gerwig manages to make a Civil War era story modern and relatable in a way that doesn't make it feel like it's trying too hard.

Saoirse Ronan is fantastic. She's a fearless, intelligent lead and there's something about her that makes you inherently root for her. Her journey becomes your journey and by the end you're desperate to see her succeed. Timothee Chalamet is a joy to watch. I could watch him read the phone book and think it's the best thing ever but he is especially good here. His big love-professing scene is one of the best I've seen in a while. It’s a break-your-heart-open kind of scene that is just so honest and achingly sweet. The supporting cast is also great and there's not one actor who doesn't hold their own or who you don't like.

The actors are incredible but it really comes down to Gerwig and the masterpiece that she weaves together. She breathes new life into the classic tale while staying true to the spirit and might of Louisa May Alcott. Little Women is the best kind of movie- something that just makes you feel good. It's why we watch movies in the first place. It's funny and tender and moving and when it all comes together in the end it's simply wonderful. It's the kind of movie that you feel in your bones and it's just so good.

FRANKLY: Greta Gerwig is a genius, Saoirse Ronan and Timothee Chalamet deliver fantastic performances and I'm emotional just thinking of how much I loved this movie. 5/5.
